To give residents greater transportation choices, the City of Bozeman adopted a Complete Streets policy in 2010. Complete Streets balance the needs of many types of transportation methods; e.g. motor vehicles, bicycles, public transit and pedestrians, and the diversity of transportation users’ needs and abilities.
- There are many elements of design that can add up to a complete street – bike lanes, sidewalks, crosswalks, bus pullouts, and more, depending upon the specifics of the project.
- The Complete Streets policy ensures that all modes of transportation will be considered in new developments and during major renovations of existing street infrastructure.
